Mercedes-Benz launches into the market with its battery-powered eActros LongHaul.
It will be the flagship product of the company’s Trucks section at this year’s transport fair, to be
held in September in Hannover.
In 2020, a 40-tons truck had been announced by the manufacturer. But now it presents for the
first time, the new prototype closer to series production. In addition, it promised to be ready by
2024. However, pre-series prototypes will reach customers in 2023 for real-world testing.
AUTONOMY
According to Mercedes, most long-distance transport operations do not require a range
greater than approximately 500 km, so the eActros LongHaul makes it possible on a single
charge. And, on the other hand, “legal restrictions on truck drivers”; driving times limit the
need for greater autonomy”.
